CBT CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT
MKA Amoako Company Limited designs, implements, and delivers CBT curricula tailored to sectors
such as oil & gas, engineering, education, and general industry, ensuring
workforce readiness and quality assurance.
v Competency-Based Training (CBT) focuses
on equipping learners with practical skills and measurable competencies rather
than only theoretical knowledge.
v Needs-Oriented Design: Curriculum is
developed after assessing industry requirements and workforce skill gaps.
v Structured Modules: Training is broken
into flexible units, each targeting specific competencies.
v Outcome-Based: Learners progress by
demonstrating mastery of defined skills and standards.
v Practical Emphasis: Strong focus on
hands-on training, workplace practice, and simulations.
v Assessment: Uses performance-based
evaluation methods to confirm competence.
v Impact: Enhances employability,
productivity, and adaptability of graduates to meet labor market demands.
In 2014, M.K.A. Amoako Company Limited achieved a significant milestone
by completing six Competence-Based Training (CBT) programmes at the National
Certificate 1 level for the Ghana Education Service (GES), under the auspices
of the Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (COTVET).
These programmes were developed to enhance the quality and relevance of TVET in
Ghana and are currently being piloted in selected technical institutions
nationwide and was sponsored by the World Bank.
In 2016 also MKA was giving the assignment to
revise Occupational Standards for Welding and Fabrication I, generate suitable
GAC’s, Skills and Sub-Skills for Wielding and Fabrication II, Electronics
Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering all at National Certificate II
and Electronics and Mechanical at HND level under the sponsorship of African
Development Bank (AfDB).
In 2015 and 2016 MKA Supplied equipment under a GIZ project for some selected TVET institutions in Ghana. MKA also undertook a technical Inspection for Biomedical Equipment Supplied to the Ho Technical University by Lucas-Nuelle GmbH, Germany through the sponsorship of African Union Development Agency (AUDA) under the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) and the Skills Initiative for Africa (SIFA) Project.
